Somebody to watch…

April 16, 2012

I just heard the Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin, Rebecca Kleefisch, being interviewed on WLS radio in Chicago. In this post-“Ann Romney-hating, war-on-women” world, it was refreshing to hear somebody who is a regular person, who has had the life of a typical Midwesterner, and who has strong beliefs. I know the national unions are throwing millions of dollars into the recall election for Gov. Scott Walker, and by virtue of her position Mrs. Kleefisch is involved in that. Now, I happen to think Gov. Walker’s heart is in the right place, but I’ve not studied his record as thoroughly as I should, so I won’t offer an opinion about his tenure as Governor. Mrs. Kleefisch seems to be the real deal, though, and I’m glad I got a chance to hear her in an impromptu interview. (She’s speaking at the Tea Party Rally in Chicago today.)

Regardless of how the recall in June comes out, I think she’s somebody to watch in the Republican party. If Gov. Walker is successful in beating the record, so much the better.
